Notes from our Wider Embraces
These are notes from our BelongAlign sessions. They are written in a short form, and the primary purpose is for us to remember what happened.
You are welcome to read, but if you are not familiar with the BelongAlign concepts, it can be a bit hard to get what it’s all about.
Though you can always read it as poetry and find your own associations!
The Embrace of the Group felt calm with unusual strength this evening, March 22nd, 2020.
We expanded our Embrace and held all of Humanity, all humans and our global struggle with Corona. Lots of energy flowing into healing alignment.
The political level came into focus; all politicians on all levels who have to handle a wicked problem they are not trained for, and every decision they make have enormous consequences.
We Embraced the global, political level. Unconditionally.
Heart open. Energy flowing. Healing and alignment.
Tears came to my eyes; this level feels so neglected and undervalued.
We are all cheering on the healthcare workers, the small businesses, the elderly, the sick. Wonderful! And at the same time, we blame the politicians for doing too much, or too little. Projecting our fears and feeling of being out of control onto them.
We stayed longer than usual, embracing this essential and criticised level of the Human culture.
In the end, we became aware of the Embrace of the Galaxy holding us and the whole planet. We rested in that spaciousness Embrace. Unconditionally.
Tonight we were three people from Germany and three from Sweden who embraced our nations with a focus on Corona. Then we all leaned out into the Embrace of Humanity. What a difference between the two!
The nations were stressful and uncomfortable, a struggle between wanting to act and being stuck and not knowing on all levels. The Embrace of Humanity was calm, holding Corona and everything else.
One insight I got was that Corona is mainly handled on a national level. Borders are closed, countries blame each other and mistrust each other’s ways of dealing with the virus. How we, as separate individuals, are affected, is very much dependent on in which country we live.
This past week we’ve been meditating on Corona on three occasions in different settings. Here’s what we’ve seen:
• A historical perspective – Humanity has been through worse things many times over. As the Embrace of Humanity, I feel calm and confident.
• Our relationship with other species – Many of our epidemics originates in our exploitation of other animals. This is also one of the significant causes of antibiotic resistance. We have a sick and disgusting animal farming, time to change!
• Our human Relationships – What a fantastic educational illustration of how interconnected and interdependent we are. We are genuinely one Humanity.
• I also live in a narrow and short time perspective – How am I affected here and now? What if Dad gets sick?
For me, it is healing and evolving to be able to switch between these perspectives. Not just intellectual, but taking them fully, see as them.
Guided Embraces online, Online with Staffan and Stina, Various Meetings
A local gathering in Höör, our small town in the south of Sweden, with Anna, Åse, Carina and me.
We leaned out into the cultural Embrace of Höör.
What a pleasant and energetic place, so much going on.
Countless circles of people creating things, building community.
As the Embrace, I feel grounded with huge potentials, like a tulip onion.
Shifting perspective to the land around Höör, to the county.
Hard to feel, no natural boundaries. Just a line on a map.
Not much of a relationship between the cultural Embrace of Höör and the land around.
Shifting perspective again, sensing the land we, as citizens of Höör, is using globally.
Sensing all the places where the food and things we consume are coming from. And where all our waste and emissions are going to.
Feeling into this vast patchwork that is an intrinsic part of our lives.
Our global footprint.
Looking back 200 years.
How completely different it was; Slower and local.
Hanna and I leaned out into the Embrace of Europe.
Focus moved to Turkey.
Where are my borders in this corner?
Sliding into Syria.
Feeling the stream of refugees moving across me, from the south-east to the north-west.
Sensing all the waves of people populating all of me from this direction for many thousand years.
Borders and no borders.
Geographical borders and Human fluidity.
We shifted focus to the very north of Europe.
Sliding all the way to the North Pole.
Ahh, fresh air, a bit chilly, but nurturing.
Vertical energy lifting us into the aurora borealis and out
We have leaned out into the Embrace of Europe three times in different settings the last week.
As the Embrace of Europe, I can feel my borders to the west, the north and the south. But where are my eastern border? Something is itching in that direction.
The old political iron curtain is still running through me.
My protestant and catholic parts are ignoring my orthodox parts.
The geography border at the Ural mountain range feels unnatural.
Maybe I reach all the way to the Pacific Ocean?
Or am I circumpolar? Including Canada as well?
I don’t mind having many boundaries; I need them to exist. But to heal the wounds that all these borders have inflicted on me is crucial.
Conditional love; the love between us.
Stretches into the future and binds us together.
Limits our freedom.
Unconditional love, the love that holds us.
Only here and now.
Sets us free.
I need both.
Only Now – No Now.
When there is only Now.
The concept of Now is not there.
We leaned out into the Embrace of Humanity, focusing on greed, wrath and gluttony. It’s a lot of that going on, on all levels. But, we humans are also very eager to limit it, on all levels.
We changed our focus to human goodness. Feeling into all the kindness, fairness, and impressive achievements, we, as Humanity, have accomplished.
The overarching story in the Embrace of Humanity is that we should limit all evil and expand all good. We can discuss the details, and it’s a never-ending task, but we agree on the idea.
Well, we changed our perspective to the Embrace of the Biosphere.
And our human story broke down. Painfully.
Hitting the hard borders of the planet and all other living beings.
From the perspective of the Planet, the internal human goodness is seen as greed, wrath and gluttony. One species is exploiting all others in order to be good to each other.
Where are the limits of good, all the way up and down?
I’ve dipped into the meta-awareness of all Embraces now and then for a long time. Sensing into the complex structure of all the diverse Embraces. The inside view of the complexity of the manifest world.
This time it was ‘One Embracing Structure’ forming many Embraces.
Bottom-up turned into top-down.
The One and the Many in an eternal dance.
Resting in the Embrace of Humanity, sensing into our creativity and the joy we get from developing and sharing all types of expressions with each other. Building an extraordinary planetary culture together.
Seeing grey bubbles floating around in the Embrace of Humanity. Our shadows; our denied parts, the dark downsides of our expansion.
Embracing the bubbles, feel how they pop open and dissolve.
Healing all of us in our unconditional Embrace.
As this single human being, I see how we, humans, are destroying life on Earth. We produce nuclear waste, are spreading chemicals everywhere, and are erupting the climate. We are at the beginning of the sixth mass extinction.
As the Embrace of Planet Earth, I’m complete and whole, right now and here. I hold all my parts and everything that is going on, unconditionally.
Nothing to change, nothing to do.
I am perfect.
Can you grasp the paradox that both these views are genuinely true?
That there is no choice between them.
We live both inside and outside the flow of time:
– With memories of the past and ideas of a future. Where things matter.
– In an eternal Now.
We are both parts and the whole:
– Relating to everything around me that is not me.
– Embracing everything I belong to.
We are both held conditionally and unconditionally:
– Being loved and seen for who I am and what I accomplished.
– Being accepted, whoever I am, whatever I do.
I am one of many.
I am the Embrace of all.
Separation is true.
Oneness is true.
To heal, we need both views.
